Big D Cycling was started by a group of competitive cyclists in the memory of a fellow rider and good friend, Dalton Eli Hawkins who tragically lost his life on April 24, 2009.
We ride in honor of the 18 year-old, straight-A student, loving son and brother, and devoted cyclist – “Big D”, as they called him.
Tim Hawkins, Dalton’s uncle, used Dalton’s love of cycling as a metaphor for his loved ones’ attempts to remember Dalton. “The wonderful memories on the ride through Big D’s life,” he said. “These are the memories that will ride with us forever.”
Interested in joining the team 56 year old, I like to ride did races in Colorado.
